Fibroblast

WHAT IS FIBROBLAST?

A fibroblast is a type of cell that is responsible for making the extracellular matrix and collagen. Together, this extracellular matrix and collagen form the structural framework of tissue.

LET'S LOOK AT THE SCEINCE BEHIND IT

Using plasma (which is the nutrients in the skins subcutaneous tissue that stimulate collagen synthesis) we push up the collagen in the subcutaneous tissue plumping up the skin removing wrinkles. Plasma also plays a key part in the skins healing process. The plasma beam generates heat and causes sublimation (turning the surface into gas) of the outermost part of the epidermis (top outer layer of the skin) causing contraction and the healing process in order to get the desired result.

DOES IT HURT?

Local anaesthetic cream is applied for 30 minutes prior to treatment to minimise discomfort than the procedure is virtually painless.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The aesthetic hand piece used, produces a tiny plasma flash (ELECTRIC ARC) which leaps from the tip of the probe onto the skins surface in a micro-milimetre point strategically positioned on the skin. This minimizes the skin its vicinity with immediate effect, reducing sagging skin, excess skin and tightens the fibres in the skin. The treatment consists of multiple shots spaced closely together.

WHAT ARE THE EXPECTED RESULTS?

The treatment area may feel hot in places and there may be a tingling sensation afterwards. Results are seen instantly, although the best appearance is seen after 3 weeks. Immediately after treatment the area may be red. 1-2 days after the treatment, swelling may occur. after 5-7 days, the sloughing of the wound healing process has disappeared. slight redness is no longer visible after3 weeks at the latest. Following the fibroblast treatment, tiny dark brown spots may appear or there may be an appearance more typical of a burn. swelling is common and often lasts several days especially around the eyes. final results depend on severity of skin laxity. reduction in skin fold s and creases appear immediately. Downtime is very minimal in comparison to the surgeons knife and allot less financially, but this is still soft surgery and you will need time to heal afterwards, this is just for visual purposes, if the look of the brown spotting also known as crusting do not bother you than the downtime is a few hours of swelling. Medical camouflage concealing can be purchased and used to help this. the brown dots left on the skin usually last 5-7 days.
