Laser Tattoo Removal
Wilkinson Lasers would like to introduce you to the fascinating world of tattoo removal using the advanced technology of NDYAG Q switched laser machine.
WHAT IS ND YAG Q SWITCHED?
Well, it stands for neodymiumdoped yttrium aluminium garnet which is a crystal that is used as a medium for laser treatments.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
To understand how tattoo removal works we first need to understand about the skin. Skin is made up of three layers:
- Epidermis which is the top layer
- Dermis being the lower
- Hypo-dermal layer that consists of collagen and sub dermal fat.
When the laser passes through the pigmented skin and attacks the tattoo ink deep into the dermis layer. As the ink absorbs the light energy, the ink breaks down into tiny particles which is than evacuated from the body through normal immune response. As the ink particles are removed the tattoo will begin to fade.
LASER MACHINE TREATS:
- Professional tattoos placed 2mm – 3mm into the dermis. these tattoos can be harder to remove due to depth and technique
- Amateur tattoos usually blue and black are not as deep, ink may not be as dense and can be easier to remove.
- Semi permanent cosmetic make up the depth is not as deep but some pigments can contain iron and that does not respond as easy. we will not treat eye-liner.
WHY IS OUR MACHINE NDYAG Q SWITCH CONSIDERED THE BEST?
NDYAG Q switched remains the desired technology for tattoo removal as the power produced creates the mechanical effect to shatter and remove the particles. Due to the risk of scarring from previous methods and the inability to completely remove tattoo inks, this is the reason NDYAG remains the best form off tattoo removal
IMMEDIATE SIDE EFFECTS, AND WHAT TO DO
- White gas bubbles. This is a good sign that heat has been released from the shattered ink particles. this will seas in 20 minutes
- Temporary skin redness
- Pinpoint bleeding due to tiny blood vessels within the skin erupting.
- A crackling noise from the laser when the tattoo ink absorbs the photo shock wave. This will be louder the more pigmented the ink and will lesson as the ink fades other the course of treatments. All of the above are considered normal and will cease within 20 minutes to a few hours.
HOW MANY SESSIONS DO YOU ADVISE?
Customers will see a reduction after the first treatment. However to completely remove the tattoo depending on ink, depth and more, it could be between three to five sessions on average with intervals of six weeks apart.
